TSB BANK
POTTED HEID BUILDING

On the corner of Broomloan Road and Govan Road stands the 'potted-heid' building.
This building, once the Glasgow Savings Bank, was designed by E A Sutherland, and built in 1906.
It is known affectionately as 'potted heid' because the mottled colouring of its granite facings resembles a Scottish meat dish.
There is a well maintained garden up on the roof!
Margaret and Morag, among others, take care of the bank proceedings on the ground floor where the potrait of a very famous Govanite, who gets all his benefit cheques paid into his account, is proudly displayed behind the counter.
