I was a house guest there when it was still owned by the late Sir Hugh Fraser, younger brother of the legendary commando leader, Lord Lovat, chief of Clan Fraser.
The house was originally built in 1838 for the Sobieski Stuart brothers, who claimed descent from Bonnie Prince Charlie, though a dwelling has existed on the site for at least 600 years.
Eilean Aigas has a wine cellar, 10 bedrooms, armoury and fine works of art.
It has also added a helicopter landing pad and a swimming pool.
The broad sweep of the River Beauly on all sides defends it from unwelcome visitors thus providing the utmost in seclusion and security.
