The 48-foot Frances Mary was built in Balloch in 1910 and operated in South England after being designed to work on Loch Lomond as a ferry to Inchmurrin. She worked on the Clyde as a harbour tender in the war.

She returned to the Clyde, with help from the Clyde Maritime Centre, in 2001, to become a City Riverbus taking people from the Broomielaw to Yorkhill Quay where Glenlee, the city's tall ship, is berthed.
