In a career spanning 46 years, the celebrity Glasgow photographer was famous for his pictures of stars such as Sean Connery, Luciano Pavarotti, Rudolf Nureyev and countless others.
At times working with Newsweek and Hello!, his photographs were sold around the world.
He was asked to photograph the Queen Mother five years before her death in 2002.

Eric passed away in hospital early 2005 after a short illness.
"Eric was such a generous, larger-than-life character who would help out anyone who needed it." said his widow Lis.
