A Concorde regular, continually crossing time zones on top-secret missions, spending half his life in the sky flying to far-flung locations such as Puerto Rico, Milan, London, New York, the Seychelles and all stops in between, Jon Malone's life certainly looks glamorous, but he insists it is also extremely tiring and frenetic.
Son of a retired glazier, the 43-year-old Govan-born Jon, one of the world's top hairdressers, tends the locks of such celebrities as Claudia Schiffer, Al Pacino, Elton John, Sting, Judie Law, Sadie Frost, Jay Kay, Trudi Styler, Natalie Imbruglia, Caprice, Heidi Klum and Rachel Hunter, to mention just a few of the supermodels, movie legends and pop stars he has on his showbiz client list.
When his salons in Glasgow didn't perform as Jon expected, he closed them and headed for Australia where he became a huge success.
Asked if his supermodel clients, who have a reputation for being bitchy, had ever been less than professional, he replied, "I've had nastier tongue-lashings from wee Glasgow wifies when I used to do set and blow-dries in my old salons."
