We stood around the Christmas tree,
a presence it was there
Short and round and jolly,
with unkept reddish hair
And at the Burn`s Supper
a kilted spectre stood
Giving silent orders
for where to get your food
Also at the pier
and staring out to sea
Checking boats on moorings,
seen by only he
Round by Dal Nan Mart
the flowers they still grow
Tended by a spectral Gardener
and in the spring they`ll show
At every village meeting,
the spirit will be there
Chucking in his tuppence worth,
as though sitting in the chair
His body it has left us
and at Drimnatorran sleeps
But his spirit is still with us
and o`er us watch he keeps
